Privacy Policy

MyCareer is an online job platform for Cambodia. This policy covers the MyCareer website and the information we handle when you use it as a visitor, job seeker or employer.

• Account details: your name, email address and a securely hashed password. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address and profile picture from Google — never your Google password.
• Job seeker profile: your headline, skills, experience, education, profile photo and the CVs you upload.
• Applications: the jobs you apply to or save, and the status of each application.
• Employer information: company name, logo, website, description, job listings, team members and how you manage applicants.
• Technical information: basic information such as your IP address and browser type, which we use to keep the service secure and working.

• To create and secure your account and keep you signed in.
• To show job listings and company profiles, and to match and send applications.
• To send you emails you need, such as password resets and updates about your applications.
• To prevent fraud, scam listings and abuse, and to keep the platform secure.
• To understand how MyCareer is used so we can improve it.

We do not sell your personal information.

• Employers you apply to: when you apply for a job, that employer's team can see your application, profile and the CV you attached. Your CV is never public — only employers you have applied to, and MyCareer administrators, can open it.
• The public: job listings and company profiles are public so that anyone can find them.
• Service providers: companies that help us run MyCareer, such as hosting and email delivery, only process information on our instructions.
• The law: we may share information if the law requires it, or to protect the safety of our users.

We only use cookies and browser storage that MyCareer needs to work:

• Sign-in cookies (mc_rt_candidate, mc_rt_company, mc_rt_admin) keep you securely signed in. They cannot be read by scripts on the page and expire after 7 days of inactivity or when you sign out.
• A short-lived cookie (mc_oauth_state) protects Google sign-in and is deleted after a few minutes.
• A language cookie (NEXT_LOCALE) remembers whether you prefer English or Khmer.
• Your browser's local storage remembers display preferences such as theme and list or grid view, plus basic details about who is signed in.

We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

Passwords are stored as one-way hashes, connections are encrypted, sign-in sessions are rotated regularly, and CV files can only be downloaded by people who are allowed to see them. No online service can be 100% secure, so please use a strong password that you do not use anywhere else.

We keep your information for as long as your account is open. When you close your account, we delete or anonymise your profile and CVs within a reasonable time, unless we need to keep some records for legal reasons, to resolve disputes or to prevent fraud.

Employers who have already received your application may keep their own copy for their recruitment records; you can ask them directly to delete it.

• View and update your profile and CVs at any time from your account.
• Choose which jobs you apply to — your CV is only shared with those employers.
• Ask us for a copy of your information, to correct it, or to delete your account, through our Contact page.
• Change your language preference or sign out at any time.

MyCareer is for people aged 15 and over. If you are under 18, please use MyCareer with the permission of a parent or guardian. If you believe a child under 15 has created an account, contact us and we will remove it.

If we change how we handle your information, we will update this page and its "last updated" date. For important changes we will also let you know by email or with a notice on the site.
